Happy 68th Independence Day 2014 to you and your family. Our website is dedicated to provide you latest Independence Day 2014 Speech, Independence Day India 2014 SMS Messages and Independence Day 2014 Wallpapers. India got independence from British Rule on 15th August 1947 and since then we Indians are celebrating the Independence Day with enthusiasm. If you are looking for Independence Day 2014 Speech for functions in Schools and Colleges, then you are at right spot. Below I am sharing some Independence Day speeches.

Happy Independence Day India 2014 Speech

68th Independence Day Speech 1:

Honorable Chief Guest, teachers and my friends I wish you a very Happy 68th Independence Day. I feel so proud to give a speech on Independence Day since I really want to share my views about this very special day.

Today is the 68th Independence Day and this day is solely dedicated to all our freedom fighters who gave their all for the sake of freedom and for the sake of their motherland. I remember a line from the speech of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru which he gave on 14th august, 1947. He said – “When the world sleeps, India will wake to life and freedom”. And that was the day that makes the history and gave birth to a free India. Today India is the largest Democratic Country in the world and I feel so proud to be an Indian citizen.

Friends, most of us are able to breathe free air from the birth but if you really want to feel the pain of being a slave, ask your elders who were born before 1947. We all know how powerful Britishers were during that time and defeating them was certainly not an easy task. It took countless days and countless deaths that can’t be paid back in any circumstances. We just can’t afford to forget the freedom struggle of our freedom fighters. They are our true heroes and as an Indian citizen it’s our duty to pay sincere tribute to our freedom fighters because the freedom we’re enjoying today is possible because of them.

Let’s not forget Mahatma Gandhi, who taught us how to win big wars without violence, Subhash Chandra Bose who filled us with courage and confidence, Swami Vivekananda who taught us the real youth power and spirituality, Dr. Br. Ambedkar who gave us the world’s longest written constitution, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who played a big role in developing India as an industrialized country.

I may not be able to mention all of them but that doesn’t mean that their contribution in Indian freedom struggle doesn’t count. They all are greatest freedom fighters for us and we respect them with all we have got. We sincerely thank all of them and promise that we will do our best to take our country to new heights.

I sincerely hope that 68th Independence Day becomes a wonderful one for you and your family. Jai Hind, Jai Bharat..!!!!

68th Independence Day Speech 2:

Respected dignitaries and my dear friends, a very good morning to everyone.

On this occasion of great pride and honour, that Indian Independence Day 2014 is for us, I salute the spirit of India and its people. At this glorious moment, we are all Indians, neither Punjabi nor Tamil, nor Muslim, nor Hindu and nor Christian. I hope to continue this spirit for eternity.

My dear friends, this is the day when the Indian Flag is gloriously hoisted at all important places back to 68 years. 15 August, 1947 is the day when each and every Indian sings patriotic songs, attributing the heroes of the fight for freedom. Now we cannot measure the intensity of the sacrifices of those freedom fighters. Ahimsa or the path of Non-violence which was chosen as the weapon for freedom fighting by Mahatma Gandhi was the key to achieve our freedom from the Britishers. As time passes, we are tending to forget the importance of Non-violence. Today as a nation we are lacking patience, we succumb to violence easily and we are the victims of violence and terror. We are forgetting the power of unity. But this an opportunity to pay a tribute to all those freedom fighters and remind ourselves of their sacrifice.

My young friends, you are still like a piece of clean paper. Like in a paper, anything can be written on your minds, anything can impress your minds. But complexity of life in Independent India, has given you the responsibility to choose what is better for you. So much is happening right in front of you, that hardly anyone can say that children should not know this or that. You have the TV sets at your reach to watch everything good or bad, you have to choose what to watch and what not to watch. You have to pass the piles of garbage and make your way out. Crime against children is increasing at alarming rates and you need to take care of yourselves.

Perhaps this is time for change. And you can become the warrior this time. Please be aware of what is going in on around you. Try as much as you can to avoid things that has harmful effects on the environment, on the Earth. Be careful and cautious while traveling. learn from your elders how to remain safe while travelling on your own. We want and deserve a terror-free India, where children get every kind of opportunity to build their lives. Not only you who are at least lucky to be here, there are other children who are worrying about what they would eat tonight. Think of them too, when you encounter one of them stretch your helping hand. You can build the new India. With this I would like to conclude my Independence day Speech.

Jai Hind!

Independence Day India 2014 Speech 3:

Good morning to one and all. I wish everyone a very "Happy 68th Independence Day"

It has been great pleasure for us that we are celebrating our 68th Independence day. August 15, 1947 is the day engraved in gold in Indian history. It is the day when India attained it's freedom from the clutches of a long slavery of over 200 years of the British rule. Many freedom fighters and great men laid their life for our beloved motherland. Country produced great leaders like Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose, Dr. Rajendra Prashad, Gopal Krishna Gokhle, Lala Lajpat Rai, Lokmanya Balgangadhar Tilak, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru and Chandra Shekhar Azad.

Struggle for our motherland was such a moving force that it united all the people belonging to different castes, classes and beliefs into a single nation. Even women came out to help men equally. Women like Aruna Asaf Ali, Sarojini Naidu, Vijay Laxmi Pandit, Kamla Nehru , Kasturba Gandhi and Annie Beasant contributes greatly to the success of our freedom movement.

Every year we celebrate Independence Day with full of pride in our heart. On our first Independence Day, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, our first Prime Minister of India, hoisted the National flag, the Tri-colour at the Red Fort. Since then we are hoisting flag in all over India, in schools, banks, offices etc. with full zeal, fervour and great excitement. On this particular day, every particle in the air seems to be charged with love for Mother India. One can see small children carrying small Tri-colours flag in their hands and running with zeal towards their schools early in the morning for flag hoisting ceremony in the schools. Every vehicle, tempo, auto rickshaw, has a Tri-colour flying on a top of it. Songs full of patriotism can be heard at every street corners.

Freedom Fighters Indian Independence Day 2014 Wallpapers

Important Freedom Fighters:

Mangal Pandey

We can’t forget Mangal Pandey because he was the man who was behind the popular 1857 revolt and he was the one who started the fight for Indian freedom and that’s the reason why he is known as first freedom fighter. He was the one who figured out the intention of cruel Britishers and revolted against them all alone.

Bhagat Singh

Bhagat Singh, popularly known as the Shaheed Bhagat Singh is the young brave man who along with Rajguru and Sukhdev blasted the bombs in the British Assembly hall. He was hanged along with Rajguru and Sukhdev and their death spread a fire among the people of India which eventually led to a massive revolt against Britishers.

Subhash Chandra Bose

Subhash Chandra Bose also played a major Role in Indian Freedom Fight. He believed that Indian Freedom is not possible without International help so he met with various leaders of Japan, Germany, and China who were against the Britishers at that time. He also strengthened the Indian National army which played as a key point in India’s Freedom.

Mahatma Gandhi

The most important man of the fight of India’s freedom was Mahatma Gandhi. He was the one who gave his all- his family, his law degree, his career, everything. The whole India knows him today as Father of Nation.

We may not be able to mention all of them but that doesn't mean that their contribution in Indian freedom struggle doesn't count. Jai hind!

So, now that you have learned about the Freedom Fighters, don’t forget to share it with your friends and we wish you and your family a Happy 68th Independence Day.

{Independence Day India 2014} Why 15th August, 1947 was chosen as the date for celebrating Independence Day?

Happy 68th Independence Day 2014 to every Indian. Our website is dedicated to provide you latest Independence Day 2014 Speech, Independence Day India 2014 SMS Messages and Independence Day 2014 Wallpapers. I’m sure many of you are unaware about the reason behind celebrating 15th August, 1947 as an Indian Independence Day. Maybe you’re thinking that 15th August would be just a random date but there’s a story behind that too. So let’s check out what’s the reason behind choosing 15th August as Independence Day and 1947 as the Independence Year. Now this question can be divided into two parts:

1. Why 1947?
2. Why 15th August?

Happy Independence Day 2014 India Speech

Why 1947?

Freedom Fighters played a major role in Indian Independence. Mahatma Gandhi’s non-violence movements had awakened the whole India. The whole British emperor was facing a tough challenge in every region of country. Apart from this, the strengthening of the Indian Army by Subhas Chandra Bose played a major role in bringing the Independence to India. Also by the time of World War 2 in 1945, the British were facing financial challenges too. So overall Britishers were all set to go back to England in 1948 but due to Jinnah & Jawaharlal Nehru conflicts which eventually led to the India-Pakistan partition, the condition got more worse in India which made Britishers to leave India almost one year earlier.

Why 15th August?

Now the next question, why 15th August? Well the credit goes to British. Yes, it was the Lord Mountbatten, who himself decided the date 15th August just because he considered 15th August as a lucky date for his career. What’s so special in 15th August? Actually the Japanese Army surrendered themselves in front of Lord Mountbatten on the same date i.e., on August 15 1945 which makes 15th August so special for Lord Mountbatten.

So, now that you have learned the reason behind choosing the 15th August as an Independence Day and 1947 as the Independence year, don’t forget to share it with your friends and we wish you and your family a Happy 68th Independence Day.
